The History

Arlington Municipal Cemetery was formally plotted under the name "Harwood Cemetery" in 1903 and operated by a non-profit association. The adjoining parcels of property were purchased over the years and until the cemetery reached its current size of 30 acres. The City of Arlington assumed ownership in 1999. and is self-supporting. It does not rely on tax revenues for operation or maintenance.

Hours of Operation for Visitation
The cemetery is open year round (365 days) for visitation. The grounds are open from 8:00 A.M. to dusk, and the gates are locked at dusk. Children must be accompanied by an adult and pets must be kept on a leash.
